- Make sure that they are properly licensed and insured. The best way to check this is to just ask the moving company what kind of insurance they have and keep in mind that every states requirements are different. Some states require that moving companies have US DOT numbers and other states (about half) don’t even require that they have a license in that state. Keep in mind also that registration requirements change frequently as well.
- Make sure that the company that you go with has good reviews on the online directories. Today it is so easy to find out what others think about a particular company. All you have to do is look online on your smartphone and look up the company on Google and see what others are saying about the company. The first thing I would do is make sure that the company has a minimum of 10 reviews otherwise you don’t really have enough reviews to make a decision or to even trust the company. I would look to see that the reviews are on trusted sites like Google as well because they have very strict guidelines on which reviews are approved etc.
- Make sure the company has top notch equipment and trucks. Most likely if there trucks are beaten and battered they will do the same with your furniture.
